Today I was lazy and slept in until around 1pm. I ventured out to find the nail place that Time Out magazine ranked for the best manicures under $10, Coco Nails. It was about a mile and a half walk which wasn't bad considering the nice weather. It was clean and the people were welcoming. It was worth the walk and $10. The hand massage was excellent and I will definitely be going back.
I started work at 4pm at the Gap. It was another long day, but I am getting the hang of things. I can say the people I work with are so friendly and helpful. When I thought of New York I wasn't sure how friendly they would be, but they proved me wrong. I almost like it better than my own store. I worked the body section mostly by myself today which got hectic at times, but made the day go by faster. Since I am writing this blog so late, you probably can figure out that I closed again.
Now I can tell you about the funny parts of the day. Earlier there was a guy singing the theme song to the Brady Bunch (hilarious). On the way home from work one of the street workers asked me for my phone number and if we could be friends... I politely said no thanks. Right before I was about to enter the hotel some guy told me he loved me, which in return I ignored him and walked faster. Overall though I feel relatively safe, but I make sure that I am aware of what is around me since I am by myself a majority of the time.
On to some rants, which I hate to do, but need to vent. The EHS place still hasn't fixed our drain. Is it really that hard!?! Like I said I don't want to be standing in a foot of water every time I take a shower. The bed is still hard as a rock and my roommate said the egg crate she bought didn't do it any justice either so why waste the $14 for one. The magazine called me today and apologized for not telling me that they were closed Monday. Better late than never I suppose, but I am super excited to start tomorrow even if it will be a ten hour day. Lets hope the energy vitamins that I bought work!
I really do enjoy New York so far and all its craziness, but check back with me in a month and see if I change my tune =-) Time for bed so that I can rest up for the big day tomorrow. Wish me luck!
My Computer
A Mac what do ya know!? ha ha
The Office
Some people have a window, but I don't. I like their view though!
Dark Ages Sink
I have never seen a sink without a facet, but now I have. How old is our sink anyway?!? Oh yea the hot and cold are backwards too.
The Tub
So here is the foot of water that I get to stand in every time I take a shower until they fix it.
Times Square
I accidently moved my camera phone while it was capturing so the road looks distorted, but still looks cool!
The City
The scenery along my walk to work.
